How do we as Christians Walk the Talk
in the 21st Century?
A Conference for Laity at Scottish Churches House,
Dunblane from 23-25 May. Cost: £130
This conference is an opportunity for Christians of all denominations to meet
each other in a prayerful and thoughtful setting to explore what faith means
today. Led by Alison Moody and Larry Hurtado, it will encourage participants
to ask:
Who is God for us today?
How does the Jesus of history relate to the Christ of faith?
Where do we discern the Holy Spirit?
Larry Hurtado is Professor of New Testament at New College, Edinburgh.
Fascinated by earliest Christian responses to Christ, he has recently produced
a DVD entitled: Devotion to Jesus: The Divinity of Christ in Earliest
Christianity. He will offer the conference a scholarly and spiritually challenging
presentation uncovering the historical facts of when, where and why people
believed in the divinity of Christ.
Alison Moody works in spiritual direction. She is a member of the Epiphany
Group which is rooted in the Ignatian tradition and offers help and support to
individuals, informal groups, churches and parishes who wish to explore the
spiritual aspects of life and faith in their own setting. She will guide the conference
participants into prayerful reflection on where they sense God at work in
their lives.
